“Finally, October 31st is here”, I said as I got out of bed. I stood in front of the mirror, looked at myself, and said, “Happy Halloween! Nelson. You must get ready, have breakfast and leave quickly to visit the nearest costume shop.”

I ate my breakfast and left the house as soon as possible to visit the costume shop. When I got there, I was confused to see that the plot where the shop used to be was empty. I asked a few nearby shops about this, and the only information I got was that the shop had closed down at the time of the first lockdown. Disappointed, I googled the nearest costume shop from my current location and thankfully found one within 5 Kilometres’ distance. It was in a nearby mall, but the only issue was that I had heard that the mall was still closed even after the lockdown eased out.

SPILT ALL OVER!- A SHORT STORY

“Where is it?” Asked the inspector as he got out of his vehicle. I led him directly to it and said, “I don't know who did it, sir, but look at it. It's right there, all out in the open, for everyone to see.” The inspector’s eyes widened as he saw it. Such a heinous display of death. Red everywhere. The inspector kept looking at it, because as disturbing as the visuals were, he couldn't take his eyes off it. He asked me, “Who, according to you, did it?” And I told him everything. “A man entered our cafe early in the morning when no one was around, no staff, no customers, no one else, just me. He sat right there on that table.” I said as I pointed straight at a table right next to where it had happened, and continued, “I told him that we weren't ready to serve anything at the moment, but he just kept looking at me, smiling. It made me uncomfortable. He sat there for hours, ordering food and coffee multiple times, and as the staff arrived and customers started to pour in, I lost track of him. After sometime I noticed that he was gone from where he sat, and right next to it, right next to it was……” my voice cracked as I continued the terrible tale, “Right next to the table I saw it, all over the floor, the insides were everywhere, and as I saw it I immediately called you. Look at it, it's already starting to rot.” I said with a look of disgust on my face. “How could anyone do something like this? Something so brutal? That too in broad daylight in public?” I said.

New Year's Eve Of Doom!

The year was 1871, New year’s eve. The village located on the outskirts of a small town was not sure whether to celebrate stepping into a new year and a fresh start or whether to mourn all the lives lost and stay inside their homes to stay safe from the danger that is present outside, which will lead them to their doom. The worst part is that the police in the towns nearby are not even concerned about the village’s safety. If things went on at the current rate, the entire village would become abandoned.
